Long-term Nitrogen Storage
Ultra Electronics, CEMS has engaged in long term manufacturing service agreements, requiring spares and repair support for many years; commonly 25 years. Faced with a progressively more fluid and changing component market place, it has become clear that many devices are unlikely to be available in future years to support on-going spares and repairs requirements.
Customers whose products are expected to have long in-service lives are increasingly moving to the procurement of devices for future spares and repairs as part of the original manufacturing requirement; those additional devices then being stored in Nitrogen to preserve the condition and in particular solderability of those devices for a minimum of 25 years.
CEMS has two long term Nitrogen storage facilities, one in Weymouth and one in Portsmouth, providing a viable solution to the increasingly difficult task of sourcing old devices; that are in a useable state in future years.
